7 March Ohio Central School System 4299 Training March 7, 2018 By ODRC Belmont Correctional Institution (BeCI), Institutions, Ohio Central School System (OCSS) OCSS, BeCI, Superintendent Justice, Eastern Horizon Center 0 The Ohio Department of Rehabilitation and Correction (DRC) 4299 training is in progress, and the Ohio Central School System (OCSS) is pleased to be a part of the program. IT Project Manager Kara Peterson recently conducted the 4299 training for the Belmont Correctional Institution (BeCI) Eastern Horizons Center. The training took place at the Operations Support Center. Teachers, Apprenticeship Supervisors, and the Deputy Warden of Special Services attended the training. BeCI staff are one of 21 institutions that have been trained so far on the 4299-online inmate monthly attendance record, which drives earned credit. We will be conducting training during the month of April for the remainder of the institutions. “This is a very exciting time for the Ohio Central School System,” stated Superintendent Justice. She continued, “The new 4299 has enhanced what we can do, and the new features will improve services for all those involved,” emphasized Superintendent Justice. The Department of Rehabilitation and Correction (DRC) endorsed this enterprise project by purchasing the thin clients, servers and security peripherals recommended by DAS. The Bureau of Information and Technology Services (BITS) partnered with the Ohio Central School System (OCSS) to secure applications, expand programming and reduce risk statewide.
