1 March Howard University Professor Presents Little Known Heroes of Black History March 1, 2018 By ODRC Institutions, Richland Correctional Institution (RiCI) RiCI, Black History Month, Dr Helen Bond, Howard University 0 As Dr Helen Bond concluded her presentation at RiCI, she was greeted to a standing ovation and extended applause from approximately 150 offenders. As a component of the Black History month activities at RiCI, Dr Bond facilitated a presentation regarding “The Lost, But Fabulous History of African-Americans”. Dr Bond was born and raised on a small farm in Mansfield Ohio. Currently, she is an Associate Professor at prestigious Howard University in Washington DC. Those in attendance learned a great deal regarding pioneers who made advancements in arts, business, medicine, and industry. At the conclusion, Dr Bond was awarded with a Certificate of Appreciation by DWO Wicker.
