16 February CCI Receive Students from the Law and Public Safety Program February 16, 2018 By ODRC Chillicothe Correctional Institution (CCI), Institutions CCI, Law and Public Safety Program, Pickaway-Ross Career Technology Center, Tour, Art Tate 0 The Chillicothe Correctional Institution was fortunate enough to showcase their facility to students in the Law and Public Safety Program from the Pickaway-Ross Career Technology Center (PRCTC). This great program prepares students for the career paths chosen and make them marketable after graduation. The students went to housing units where several offenders were available to speak with them and answer any of their questions. Staff from all areas of the prison toured with the students and answered their questions about their specific field of work and what it means in corrections. The students were treated to lunch in the offender chow hall to give them a small look at what life is like inside the walls. The tour ended with Mr. Art Tate, retired warden, explaining to the students his experience with the DRC from a warden’s perspective. As one student stated, “We would just like to thank you for giving us this fantastic opportunity to come inside and get an inside look. We are incredibly grateful for you letting us do this”.
