15 September CISM at OSP September 15, 2017 By ODRC Institutions, Ohio State Penitentiary (OSP) OSP, Critical Incident Stress Management, Cornerstone of Hope 0 The regional Critical Incident Stress Management Program (CISM) had its quarterly training at the Cornerstone of Hope, a bereavement counseling center located in Independence, Ohio. This beautiful facility is funded completely by private donations and includes a treehouse for doing bereavement work with children and adolescents. The CISM program has forged a relationship with the staff at Cornerstone with the common theme of providing assistance to those in need. CISM in our region is a team of 45 staff members that provides peer support, critical incident stress debriefing and military peer support. Staff are encouraged to contact Peer Support staff members for emotional support and connections to resources and further services outside of the facility.
