21 February AOCI Staff Receive Specialized Training February 21, 2019 By ODRC Allen/Oakwood Correctional Institution, Institutions AOCI, Specialized Training, Sugar Creek Developmental Unit, Communication, Developmentally Disabled Persons 0 AOCI staff took part in an eight hour training as it relates to developmentally disabled offenders. AOCI houses the Sugar Creek Developmental Unit and with the expansion of this unit to now include two living areas and additional staff, a specialized training was scheduled. Staff trained included unit officers, unit staff, mental health staff, psychiatric attendants and administrative staff. Several topics during the day included: effective communication and behavioral plans as it relates to developmentally disabled persons.
