<rss version="2.0" xmlns:atom="http://www.w3.org/2005/Atom" xmlns:media="http://search.yahoo.com/mrss/"><channel><title>Latest News</title><link>https://www.drc.ohio.gov/News</link><item><title>LeCI and WCI Partner to Host Annual Volunteer Banquet</title><link>https://www.drc.ohio.gov/leci-wci-partner-volunteer-banquet</link><category>Warren Correctional Institution (WCI)</category><pubDate>Fri, 16 Nov 2018 10:54:27 GMT</pubDate><summary>Lebanon Correctional Institution (LeCI) partnered with Warren Correctional Institution (WCI) to host their Annual Volunteer Banquet.  The theme for the event  was</summary><description>&lt;p&gt;Lebanon Correctional Institution (LeCI) partnered with Warren Correctional Institution (WCI) to host their Annual Volunteer Banquet.&amp;nbsp; The theme for the event &amp;nbsp;was &amp;ldquo;Working Together for The Greater Good&amp;rdquo;.&amp;nbsp; The various displays were designed by offenders at LECI to inform the volunteers and guests about the multiple programs that are offered to the offender population.&amp;nbsp; The volunteers enjoyed the exhibits as well as having the opportunity to interact with the offenders who represented each department.&amp;nbsp; &amp;nbsp;All volunteers in attendance received a certificate of appreciation for their service, along with a gift bag containing various items, including a handmade thank you card from the LeCI Community Service Department. &amp;nbsp;Darren Parnell &amp;ndash; LeCI and&amp;nbsp;Michael Baugham&amp;nbsp;&amp;ndash; WCI, were recognized as Volunteer of the Year for 2018. Both Warden Chae Harris (LECI) and Warden Wanza Jackson-Mitchell &amp;nbsp;(WCI) were in attendance at this celebration.&amp;nbsp; We appreciate our volunteers for their continuous support and commitment!&lt;/p&gt;

Each Inmate Program Facilitator was permitted to invite two family members to attend the ceremony. Ed Voorhies, Managing Director of Operations was the guest speaker along with Irene Lyons (Program creator). Several inmate representatives from the program gave speeches about what the program meant to them including one restored citizen who had been released from RCI. All the Program Facilitators were recognized for their contributions to the unit.&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;&lt;span style="font-family: Arial;"&gt;The Going Home for Good program is a restorative unit focused on restoring offenders being released from a level 3 facility to the streets. The program focuses on job readiness, community service, and cognitive skill training aimed at giving these offenders the skills they need to go home and stay home.&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;</description></item></channel></rss>
