Ohio Department of Rehabilitation and Correction Assistant Director

 

Stephen J. Huffman, a veteran corrections professional, is the Assistant Director of DRC.  Mr. Huffman began his career at the London Correctional Institution in 1981 as the Pre-Release and Commissary Manager.  From there, Steve worked his way up through the ranks holding a number of different positions including Deputy Warden, Security Administrator, Warden and Deputy Director.  Mr. Huffman left DRC in 2007 and since that time has assumed several leadership roles in various correctional organizations throughout the United States.  Most recently, he served as the Executive Director of the Tri-County Regional Jail in Mechanicsburg, Ohio.

Mr. Huffman is a graduate of Ohio University with a B.S.S. degree.  He has been a member of the American Correctional Association since 1973 and has served as a Delegate Assembly Member and also served on several committees.  He served as past President of the Ohio Wardens and Superintendents Association.  He is also a member of the North American Association of Wardens and Superintendents, Ohio Court and Corrections Association, Correctional Accreditation Association of Ohio and the National Association of Blacks in Criminal Justice Association. .
