Ernie L. Moore began his career with the Ohio Department of Rehabilitation and Correction in 1987 as a Corrections Officer. Over the next 12 years, he held positions as Sergeant, Lieutenant, Inspector, Administrative Assistant, and Deputy Warden at several Ohio prisons. In 1999, he was appointed Warden at the Madison Correctional Institution. In 2000, he transferred to the Ohio Department of Youth Services, serving as Superintendent at the Circleville Juvenile Correctional Facility as well as the Chief of the Bureau of Institutions. Returning to adult corrections in 2004, Moore served as warden of the Lebanon Correctional Institution for the next three years. In 2007, he was tapped to oversee the state's south region of prisons. Most recently, Moore was appointed Assistant Director of the Ohio Department of Rehabilitation and Correction.
Moore serves as an adjunct professor at both Cedarville and Tiffin Universities. He is a member of various organizations including the American Correctional Association (ACA) where he is a national trainer, conference presenter, and certified ACA auditor, the North American Association of Wardens and Superintendents, the Ohio Correctional and Court Services Association, and the International Association for Reentry.
Mr. Moore graduated Cum Laude from Ohio University with a Bachelor of Arts in 1999.
