During a December meeting, at DCI, complaints related to
work orders were heard. Many staff believed the orders were
not completed in a timely manner. The Time Savers collected
data to verify conditions at the beginning of the process. The
team compiled statistics from old records and used other tools
to bring about improvement. Specifically, the group changed
work hours to meet customers needs, increased the parts inventory
and implemented preventative maintenance plans. They also put
into place a tracking system for all work orders. The team reports
there is improved response times to customers, planning and
scheduling is better and there is increased uptime for equipment.
