WARDEN APPOINTMENT ANNOUNCED

(Columbus) --- Reginald A. Wilkinson, Director of the Ohio Department of Rehabilitation and Correction (DRC), today announced the appointment of Warden Curtis Wingard to the Montgomery Education Pre-Release Center in Dayton.

Wingard, 40, has been the warden at the Madison Correctional Institution in London since 1994. He began his career with DRC in 1983 as the recreation director at the Ohio State Reformatory in Mansfield. He worked at the Dayton Correctional Institution for two years as a deputy warden before being tapped as warden in 1994. Wingard replaces Warden Don DeWitt who was transferred to the Ross Correctional Institution in Chillicothe.

Curtis Wingard received a Bachelors Degree in Education from West Virginia State College. "With his background in education we are confident that Warden Wingard will continue to embrace and enhance the mission of Montgomery Education Prerelease," stated Director Wilkinson. "His familiarity with the Dayton community as well as his ability to motivate staff and provide positive leadership will be well received at the institution."
