EXECUTION DATES REVISED
COLUMBUS –
Today the Ohio Department of Rehabilitation and Correction (DRC) announced
revised execution dates for seven
inmates in response to prior
orders by U.S. District Court Judge Gregory L. Frost
staying Ohio executions in order to allow DRC and defense counsel to continue
necessary preparations for the adoption and implementation of the new execution
protocol that became effective January 9, 2015. The new dates are also
designed to provide DRC adequate time to secure a supply of the new
execution drugs. Scheduled execution dates for
four inmates in 2016 remain unchanged.
