DRC to Name 2006 Correction Officer of the Year

(COLUMBUS)---       Ohio Department of Rehabilitation and Correction (DRC) Director Terry J. Collins will be joined by Ohio Civil Service Employees Association (OCSEA) Executive Director Andy Douglas at the Ronald C. Marshall 2006 Correction Officer of the Year ceremony on Friday, May 5, 2006. The ceremony, which will be held at the Corrections Training Academy (CTA),  will begin at 11:30 A.M.

The Ronald C. Marshall Award, presented annually to Ohio’s top Correction Officer, was named in memory of Ron Marshall, who began his career in corrections as a guard at the Ohio Penitentiary and rose through the ranks to become warden at the Southern Ohio Correctional Facility.

Directions to site from Columbus:

Take I-71 South to the Orient/Harrisburg exit (Exit 94). Turn left at light (State Route 62). Bear left at “Y” (Stahl Road). Follow Stahl Road through town of Orient. At first stop sign, turn left. Road dead-ends into State Route 762. Turn left onto SR 762 then an immediate right onto the Orient Correctional Complex. Turn left at 4-way stop and follow road past DRC Employee Recognition Park. Continue going straight at next 4-way stop and follow road to Corrections Training Academy parking lot.
