Correctional Institution and Montgomery County Common Pleas Court Honored for
Perfect Audit Scores
(Dayton) – Today Ohio
Department of Rehabilitation and Correction Director Reginald A. Wilkinson and
Montgomery County Common Pleas Court Administrative Judge Jeffrey E. Froelich
hosted an open house event at the Dayton Correctional Institution (DCI) to
recognize that institution and the Court’s Division of Criminal Justice
Services for scoring 100% during their most recent American Correctional
Association (ACA) audits.
American
Correctional Association standards are the national benchmark for the effective
operation of correctional systems throughout the United States. They address
services, programs and operations essential to good correctional management.
“It
is fitting that we are here at DCI to recognize this institution as the first in
Ohio to achieve 100% in its reaccreditation audit,” Wilkinson stated. “In
1989, DCI was the first correctional facility in Ohio to achieve ACA
accreditation. Now in its fifth audit, DCI has again set the mark for the other
institutions within the Department of Rehabilitation and Correction to match.
In
his comments, Judge Froelich explained that the Court’s Division of Criminal
Justice Services was the first in the country to undergo ACA’s new
performance-based audit standards. “Montgomery County is fortunate to have
such professional correctional services available at both the local and state
level,” said Judge Froelich.
