Warden and Staff Appointments Announced

(Columbus)-Reginald A. Wilkinson, Director of the Ohio Department of Rehabilitation and Correction (DRC), announced the appointment of Margaret Bagley as Warden at Mansfield Correctional Institution, replacing Betty Mitchell. Toni Brooks, North Regional Security Administrator will become Warden at Richland Correctional Institution.

Bagley, 37, was most recently Warden at Richland Correctional Institution. She began her corrections career in 1986 with the Federal Correctional Institution in Ft. Worth, Texas as a warden’s assistant. Bagley started her employment with DRC at the Ohio Reformatory for Women as a food service coordinator in 1987. She has worked her way up through the ranks in a variety of positions including social worker and deputy warden. In 1987, she received her Masters Degree in Corrections from Kent State University.

Ms. Brooks has served as North Regional Security Administrator since 1997. Prior to that, Toni Brooks served in such capacities as deputy warden of operations and deputy warden of special services, to name a few. Ms. Brooks has earned her Associates Degree in Criminal Justice and is currently working towards her Bachelors Degree in Organizational Management from Wilberforce University.

Betty Mitchell will serve as a member of the Ohio Parole Board. Prior to being appointed to the Parole Board, Ms. Mitchell was Warden at Mansfield Correctional Institution since January 1998. She has also been a Warden at Trumbull Correctional Institution and Southeastern Correctional Institution. Ms. Mitchell holds both a Bachelors and Masters Degree in Psychology from Wright State University.

"All three of these women have a strong foundation in the corrections profession," said Director Wilkinson. "I am confident that they will carry out their job assignments in a committed manner."
