The death sentence of
inmate Vernon Smith
was carried out at the Southern Ohio Correctional Facility in Lucasville this
morning via intravenous lethal injection. Smith's time of death was 10:28
a.m. His sentence was imposed on March 22, 1994, by the Lucas County Common
Pleas Court.
