Prisons Director Joins Community Partners for Grand Opening Ceremony of a
Female Facility at West Central in Marysville
(Columbus) – Ohio Department of Rehabilitation and Correction (DRC) Director Terry J. Collins will join State Representative Tony Core and David E. Ervin, Executive Director of the West Central Community Correctional Facility (WCCCF), on Thursday, April 26, 2007 for the Grand Opening Ceremony of the WCCCF female facility beginning at 1:30 p.m. Also present will be representatives of the Facility Governing Board and representatives of the Judicial Advisory Board.
DRC is a partner with WCCCF in providing much needed community-based correctional services to offenders. Capital appropriation monies in the amount of $2,845,945 were set aside for the construction of the female facility. WCCCF will activate 16 female beds for DRC offenders. Director Collins has worked closely with community based corrections partners to secure funding for offenders who can be better served in a community based correctional facility.
