Warden Reassignments Announced

(Columbus) -- Reginald A. Wilkinson, Director of the Ohio Department of Rehabilitation and Correction (DRC), today announced the reassignment of several wardens. Melody Turner, warden at London Correctional Institution will be leaving effective September 2, 1997, to work as a district manager for the Corrections Corporation of America. Fred McAninch, the warden at Chillicothe Correctional Institution, will be retiring after 30 years of state service.

Gary C. Mohr, 44, the warden at the Correctional Reception Center in Orient, will become the warden at the Chillicothe Correctional Institution. Mohr began his corrections career in 1974 as a teacher at the Marion Correctional Institution. He has held numerous positions in the department, including EEO executive officer, deputy warden, deputy director of prisons and being the warden at Ross Correctional Institution.

Ronald D. Edwards, 44, has been the warden at the Ross Correctional Institution in Chillicothe since 1991. Prior to that, he had served as warden at the Northeast Pre-Release Center in Cleveland and the Dayton Correctional Institution. He will take over the managing officer position at the Correctional Reception Center, which is one of the two reception centers for incoming male inmates.

Terry J. Collins, 44, has been the warden at the Southern Ohio Correctional Facility located in Lucasville since 1993. His new assignment will be warden at the Ross Correctional Institution. Collins started his career as a social services worker at SOCF 20 years ago. He was the warden at the Lorain Correctional Institution in Grafton before going to SOCF.

Stephen J. Huffman, 45, will be reassigned as warden to the Southern Ohio Correctional Facility. Huffman is a 16-year veteran of the department and has recently been serving as the warden at the Southeastern Correctional Institution in Lancaster.

Lawrence Mack, 39, currently holds the position of deputy warden at the Warren Correctional Institution in Lebanon. He will be reassigned as interim warden at the London Correctional Institution. Mack has been an employee of the department for 14 years and has served as deputy warden for the past three years.

Jeffrey Wolfe, deputy warden, will be the acting warden until a replacement is selected for the Southeastern Correctional Institution.
