Governor Taft To Open Ohio Penal Industries Trade Show

(COLUMBUS) - Governor Bob Taft will join Ohio Department of Rehabilitation and Correction (DRC) Director Reginald A. Wilkinson on Friday, June 20, 2003, for the opening of the Ohio Penal Industries (OPI) Trade Show, “Creating New Enterprises and Partnerships in Ohio State Government.” The purpose of the trade show is to educate consumers of the advantages of purchasing goods and services from state government agencies and to highlight OPI and the products that are manufactured in Ohio’s prisons. Other trade show participants include Ohio Industries for the Handicapped, the Ohio Departments of Mental Health and Natural Resources and the Office of Support Services.

The trade show will begin at 9:00 AM in the Lausche Building located on the grounds of the Ohio Expo Center and State Fair. For more information please contact the DRC Office of Public Information at (614) 752-1150.

Directions to site from downtown Columbus:

Take I-71 North to 17th Avenue/Exit 111. Turn left. The Lausche Building is located on the right side of the road. Signs and parking attendants will direct guests to the proper parking area.
