STATE FUNDS FOR THE CONSTRUCTION/RENOVATION OF FULL-SERVICE JAILS
COLUMBUS--Reginald
A. Wilkinson, Director of the Department of Rehabilitation and Correction (DRC)
today announced that Paulding County will receive funding for the construction
of a full-service jail. The amount of state funding for the jail project
represents $35,000 per inmate bed for new construction. The funding became
available as a result of Monroe County rescinding their 2000 jail construction
grant.

"The
State of Ohio is pleased to be able to assist Paulding County in helping to
improve their justice process," said Wilkinson. "The disbursement of
these jail construction funds is a good demonstration of state and local
partnerships."
