NEW WARDEN APPOINTED
AT LIMA CORRECTIONAL INSTITUTION
(Columbus) -- The Ohio Department of Rehabilitation and Correction Director Reginald A. Wilkinson has named Harold Carter warden of the Lima Correctional Institution. Mr. Carter's assignment will be effective February 2, 1997.
Mr. Carter began his career in 1971 as a Corrections Officer at the Chillicothe Correctional Institution and worked his way through the ranks. He spent 16 years working at the Southern Ohio Correctional Facility. Carter became a Deputy Warden in 1995 and served in this position until his current assignment as Security Administrator for the North Region of Prisons.
A graduate of Portsmouth East High School, Carter holds a Bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice from Wilmington College. Carter is a professional member of the American Correctional Association, Ohio Wardens' Association, and the North America Wardens' Association. "Harold Carter has a multi-faceted correctional background. This, coupled with his most recent experience as a deputy warden and security administrator, will enable him to meet the challenges that lie ahead," said Director Wilkinson.
