Ohio Prisons Director Donates Electric Chair to Ohio Historical Society

(Columbus)- The Ohio Department of Rehabilitation and Correction (DRC) will be donating the original electric chair to the Ohio Historical Society in Columbus.  On Thursday, December 19, 2002, at 11:00 a.m., media will have an opportunity to get file footage of the chair being removed from the Southern Ohio Correctional Facility (SOCF).  Please arrive at SOCF no later than 10:30 a.m. if you wish to participate. 

The Ohio Historical Society has not yet announced its plans to publicly display the chair.
