The mission of the Adult Parole Authority is to protect the public from violence and other crime through the building and sharing of offender information with victims, the courts and other criminal justice agencies, and to provide supervision of offenders who are in the community, utilizing strategies aimed at rehabilitation, incapacitation, and when necessary, punishment.

Unique Programs

• Lima APA is a member of the Reentry Coalition of Northwest Ohio.  The coalition is a collaboration of nonprofits, social services, businesses, citizens, and faith-based partners that are committed to reducing recidivism among ex offenders returning to Northwest Ohio by sharing ideas, expertise and resources.  The Reentry Coalition provides guidance, conducts forums and educational workshops to empower the community.   Additionally, the coalition connects returning citizens and their families to resources (Housing, Treatment, Employment, Education, Community Functioning, and Family Support and Reentry Resource Meetings , Mentoring –called “ CPR” -Community Partners in Reentry, and Warrant Initiatives and other programs /services) their communities.  They currently have mentors going inside the prisons at Toledo Correctional and Camp, Allen and Oakwood, North Central and the Ohio Reformatory for Women.                  

  Lima Region APA continues to be a member of the Community Advisory Council, which includes Allen Correctional Institution and Toledo Correctional. The advisory council is working with the residents of the local community to repair and develop relationships through information sharing, training and networking.

• Lima Region is a partner with - Allen County Sex Offender Risk Reduction Court (ASORRC) a program based in Allen County Lima, Ohio and is a reentry court for sex offenders in the Allen County community. The reentry court is a collaborative effort between, law enforcement, probation/parole, hearing officer, judge, victim services, mental health and social services.  The (ASORRC) Program employs a sex offender management philosophy outlined in the Kim English publication The Containment Model.  The containment approach to managing sex offenders prioritizes accountability among the offender and criminal justice agencies.
