The mission of the Adult Parole Authority is to protect the public from violence and other crime through the building and sharing of offender information with victims, the courts and other criminal justice agencies, and to provide supervision of offenders who are in the community, utilizing strategies aimed at rehabilitation, incapacitation, and when necessary, punishment.

The Akron Region's main office is located in the Ocasek building in downtown Akron. The Region has district offices in Ashtabula, Canton, New Philadelphia, Painesville and Youngstown. The Region is comprised of 138 employees which includes 99 Parole Officers nearly 6,000 offenders in 14 counties.
