The Madison Branch operates on the grounds of the Madison Correctional Institution (MaCI). MaCI houses an average of 2,280 minimum, medium and close security inmates. The MaCI Madison Branch is proud to commit to the following educational programs:
MaCI inmates ages 16-21 must attend the Ohio Central High School Madison Branch for at least 100 days if the attainment of a high school diploma or General Educational Development (GED) certification cannot be verified.
The Madison Branch offers coursework to prepare students to complete the state minimum requirements for a high school diploma, including a passing score on the Ohio Graduation Test. The primary subjects taught include reading comprehension, composition, mathematics, social studies, health, physical education, and science.
In the past, the MaCI Madison Branch has awarded secondary diplomas to completers of the high school curriculum. Also, students selected as the most improved of each quarter and those achieving honor roll status are recognized at the Madison Branch annual graduation ceremony.
