15 February TCC Bee Program February 15, 2018 By ODRC Trumbull Correctional Camp TCC, Honey Bees, Ohio State Bee Association, Honey, Hive 0 Men from the Trumbull Correctional Camp have worked hard over the past few years establishing colonies of honey bees, learning their importance in the ecological system and extracting honey. Any camp resident interested in the program may attend a 12-week program involving each step of the process. In 2017 over 60 offenders completed the program. The program includes videos and up to date information obtained from sources which include the Ohio State Bee Association. Participants must pass the test at the end of the program to earn further involvement with the bees, to include extracting honey as well as hive upkeep.
