12 December LoCI Hosts Open House For New Chapel December 12, 2017 By ODRC Institutions, London Correctional Institution (LoCI) LoCI, Hope Chapel, Ohio Penitentiary, Chaplain Tom Davis, Chaplain Steve Cahill, Terry Tibbals 0 London Correctional Institution recently hosted an Open House for their new Chapel. Construction on this Chapel began a year ago and was recently completed. It houses a beautiful sanctuary with restored stained glass windows that came from the Ohio Penitentiary. Mennonite churches in Holmes County, Ohio donated 250 beautiful cloth chairs for the sanctuary. Attending this service were approximately 200 guests to include volunteers, family members, staff, inmates, and former warden, Terry Tibbals. Remarks were given by Mr. Tibbals and Chaplains Tom Davis and Steve Cahill. Chaplains Davis and Cahill have worked together at London Correctional Institution for over 28 years and feel very blessed that their vision of this Chapel has come to fruition. The name of the Chapel is Hope Chapel. This name was chosen by Chaplains Davis and Cahill in part because of the quote which is above the door of the main entrance to the institution. The quote says, “He Who Enters Here Leaves Not Hope Behind”. The Chaplains believe that all inmates should have hope and can find it in the Hope Chapel.
