RiCI staff participant in Annual “Ohio Police and Fire games” competition

RiCI staff participant in Annual “Ohio Police and Fire games” competition

The Ohio Police and Fire Games is an annual event held in a various locations throughout Ohio every summer. These games have been taking place since 1977.  This year’s competition took place in Canton and marked the 40th anniversary of the games. Those in attendance were able to compete or observe well over 30 contests.  Event participants weren’t exclusive to Ohio, as visitors from other states and countries competed in the games.  All correctional staff, prior military and spouses are eligible to participate in the games.  During the festivities, soda can tabs are collected and given to the Local Ronald McDonald House.  Offenders and employees from RiCI collectively turned in 165 lbs of tabs. These tabs help fund stays for families with children in the hospital.
