23 August CCI Participates in Project School Tools August 23, 2017 By ODRC Chillicothe Correctional Institution (CCI), Institutions CCI, Project School Tools, Salvation Army, Book Bags, CCI Reintegration Offender Group, Angie Ivey 0 For several years, staff from the Chillicothe Correctional Institution (CCI) have participated in Project School Tools (a book bag giveaway) taking place at the Salvation Army prior to the beginning of the school year. The book bags contain all the necessary materials for children to have a successful start to the school year. Countless hours are spent in preparation for this great project from obtaining the book bags, gathering the materials needed and then ensuring each bag is packed and ready for pickup for children in grades kindergarten through the twelfth grade. The kids and their families are treated to hotdogs, chips, popcorn, and even haircuts! The CCI Reintegration Offender group donated $1,500 and staff donated $287.00 (during a jeans week) to this great cause. A special thank you to Miss Angie Ivey for being a part of this great project every year and doing her part to make it such a success!
