11 August NERC Creating Lasting Family Connections August 11, 2017 By ODRC Institutions, Northeast Reintegration Center (NERC) NERC, Creating Lasting Family Connections, Reentry, Alex Figueiredo 0 The Creating Lasting Family Connections pilot program was introduced at NERC as an educational and informative platform with a realistic view of what really happens in real life. The facilitators engaged with the residents and helped them identify with realistic life experiences in a rational meaningful way. “Their goal to self-improve was evident when talking with the residents who participated in the program and the ladies loved and appreciated the program and felt the program was a benefit in the reentry transformation process” said Unit Manager Alex Figueiredo. This eight week Volunteer facilitated course offers tools necessary not only to become healthy individuals but an opportunity to become a blessing to their families, and society.
