8 August OSPCC Hosts Softball Game with Saint’s Prison Ministry August 8, 2017 By ODRC Institutions, Ohio State Penitentiary (OSP) OSPCC, Saint's Prison Ministry, Softball Game 0 The Ohio State Penitentiary Correctional Camp had the pleasure of hosting a softball game with the Saint’s Prison Ministry (SPM). The Saint’s Prison Ministry travels around the United States, donating their time and talent to prison populations, where they interact on and off the field with the inmates. During their visits, they take a brief intermission to relay their personal messages and stories with the inmates. The Ohio State Penitentiary Correctional Camp (OSPCC) had a group of 19 players, 1 coach and 4 umpires/referees who committed to a month of mandatory practices to come together as a team and work on a common goal. Not only did the team come together, but the correctional camp, as a whole, participated by supporting and cheering on their fellow inmates. All their hard work paid off! Saint’s Prison Ministry has been playing together as a team for several years and they have great team chemistry which is vital in success. The Ohio State Penitentiary’s Correctional Camp demonstrated team chemistry and coachable attitudes as well. After the final game concluded, Saint’s Prison Ministry presented MVP’s and other awards to the players. The correctional camp team and Saint’s Prison Ministry shared pizza and conversation before they had to depart back to their everyday lives and jobs.
