4 August Matt Butler Performs at NCI August 4, 2017 By ODRC Institutions, Noble Correctional Institution (NCI) NCI, Matt Butler, Intensive Outpatient Program, Therapeutic Community Program 0 Matt Butler was welcomed at Noble Correctional Institution by inmates in the Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) and Therapeutic Community (TC) programs. Inmates received a message of hope and redemption from someone who’s been in their shoes. New York City Singer and Songwriter, Matt Butler, said that one of the most pertinent details as to why he performs in jails and prisons is that he is also a recovering drug addict and alcoholic. Butler, who says he’s spent a few nights in jail himself, can relate to the men incarcerated. He’s tasted big-time success only to see it slip away with every line of cocaine. “I think it’s an audience that might relate to some of the stuff that I can say and if there is any way that I can be of service then this is where I want to be.” With an audience of over 240 staff and inmates, the performance by Matt Butler was a success.
