26 July Gold Stars Given at Lebanon Correctional Institution July 26, 2017 By ODRC Institutions, Lebanon Correctional Institution (LeCI) LeCI, Gold Star, Ronald Gaines, Alejandra Perrin, Lebanon Camp, CPR 0 Director Gary Mohr, along with Acting Regional Director Charles Bradley, and Warden Tom Schweitzer were pleased to recognize Sergeant Ronald Gaines and Alejandra Perrin, Administrative Professional at the Lebanon Correctional Institution (LeCI) as Gold Star Recipients. Sgt. Gaines and Ms. Perrin responded to an inmate who appeared to be unconscious in his cubical at the Lebanon Correctional Institution Camp (LECC). When shouting at the offender did not get a response and he appeared not to be breathing, Sgt. Gaines, with the assistance of Ms. Perrin, began CPR on the offender. They continued the life saving measures until LeCI medical staff arrived at LECC about four minutes later. Although expert medical treatment was essential in reviving the offender, it is doubtful he could have been resuscitated if Sgt. Gaines and Ms. Perrin had not immediately begun CPR as they were trained to do in annual in-service training. Their actions represent the ongoing commitment of the Ohio Department of Rehabilitation and Correction staff to providing a safe and secure environment for both staff and inmates.
