26 April AOCI Recovery Coach Program April 26, 2017 By ODRC Allen/Oakwood Correctional Institution, Institutions AOCI, Recovery Coach Program, Intensive Outpatient Program, Behavior Healthcare 0 AOCI recently graduated eight men from a four month Recovery Coach Program. The program provides a 72 hour training curriculum focused on peer recovery support. Recovery Coaches help to instill the skills necessary for long term recovery, provide encouragement and offer a listening ear to substance abuse clients as they negotiate their way through the Intensive Outpatient Program. This program gives the men the chance to give back to others which is a key concept of both recovery and restorative justice. Recovery Coaches also had the ability to work with local community Recovery staff and volunteers from Coleman Behavior Healthcare Services.
