13 April AOCI's Alumni Group April 13, 2017 By ODRC Allen/Oakwood Correctional Institution, Institutions AOCI, Recovery Services, Sugar Creek Developmental Unit, Tami Perez 0 AOCI currently has an Alumni Group of Recovery Services offenders who volunteer to assist offenders on the Sugar Creek Developmental Unit in their recovery services process. AOCI Recovery Services staff member Debbie Hall and Tami Perez, Coordinator of SCDU, saw a need and worked together to implement the program. AOCI General Population offenders go to the SCDU and mentor those who are active in Recovery Services programming. They provide assistance with 12 Steps, program journals, and serve as co-chairs for the AA meeting in the unit. The general population offenders who volunteer help to provide support for the SCDU offenders while also benefiting from giving back.
