7 February TCI Inmate Veterans Host Family Night, Honor Community Partners February 7, 2017 By ODRC Institutions, Trumbull Correctional Institution TCI, Inmate Veterans Group, American Legion Post 540 0 Trumbull Correctional Institution Inmate Veterans Group held family night and honored American Legion Post 540 and the volunteer section of the Youngstown Veteran’s Administration Medical Outreach Center. Approximately 20 family members attended. Dinner was provided and the movie “Sully” was shown. Lori Stone, the volunteer liaison from the Youngstown V. A. center was presented with a $490.00 donation from the group and was honored for her commitment to veteran’s service. Ms. Stone oversees the food pantry which gives out approximately 120 bags of food per week to needy veterans in the area. Roger Gardner and Earl Parthermer were honored to their service to the community by providing over 180 military funerals this year. Mr. Gardner and Mr. Parthermer have completed over 3,000 funerals to military families in the area during the last few years. On behalf of post 540 Mr. Gardner and Mr. Parthermer were given a donation check for 490.00 from the group.
