25 January Community Service for the Diocese January 25, 2017 By ODRC Institutions, Lorain Correctional Institution (LorCI) LorCI, Diocese of Cleveland, Parish Life and Development, Nursing Homes 0 Lorain Correctional Institution offenders recently participated in a community service project for the Diocese of Cleveland at the request of Marilynne Zigman, secretary for the Parish Life and Development. This is the third year that LorCI has worked with the Diocese to do holiday projects. This project included place mats that are designed and colored in holiday themes. The place mats are then given to various nursing homes for use in their dining facilities for the residents. Stockings were colored by the offender will be filled with treats to be given to needy children. And Christmas cards were colored and will then be given to the nursing homes for the residents to send to their family members. This community service project took about two weeks to complete and was headed up by Maxine Davis, case manager for LorCI.
