10 January LorCI Supports The Angel Tree Program January 10, 2017 By ODRC Institutions, Lorain Correctional Institution (LorCI) LorCI, Angel Tree Program, Lorain County Children Services, Christmas Wish Card, Women in Corrections Committee, Supreme Valley Jaycees 0 Lorain Correctional Institution is in its 15th year of supporting the Angel Tree Program sponsored by the Lorain County Children Services agency. Many staff have participated in this event to brighten the holiday for a child or children who may otherwise not receive a present for Christmas and go above and beyond year after year. Case workers ask the children on their caseloads what they would like for Christmas and a wish card is created. This year, 75 wish cards were received by LorCI. Staff members in conjunction with the Women in Corrections Committee and the inmate group, Supreme Valley Jaycees came together to ensure that all 75 wish cards were fulfilled. Presents upon presents overflowed from the Warden’s conference room into the main reception area and will surely bring delight to the recipients this year.
