10 January Crayons to Computers Award January 10, 2017 By ODRC Institutions, Lebanon Correctional Institution (LeCI) LeCI, Warden Schweitzer, Dee Sears, Crayons to Computers, Volunteer of the Year, Community Service 0 Lebanon Correctional Institution (LeCI) Warden Tom Schweitzer is pleased to announce that Dee Sears was honored as “Outstanding Individual Volunteer of the Year” by Crayons to Computers, a free store in Cincinnati where teachers can go shopping for their classrooms. Ms. Sears is an Administrative Professional and Community Service Coordinator at LeCI. She has been working with the Crafts with Conviction Program for over five years. She oversees dozens of inmates as they work on projects for Crayons to Computers and other community service organizations. For Crayons alone, the inmates at LeCI work over 3,000 hours each month. Staff at Crayons to Computers praise Ms. Sears for regularly going over and beyond, often thinking creatively on how to re-purpose remnants for new items and even collaborating with nearby facilities to accomplish projects. She ensures all products received by Crayons to Computers are of high quality. They are grateful for her help in making sure teachers and students have ample access to fun and inventive learning tools. Warden Schweitzer stated, “We are very fortunate to have Ms. Sears coordinating the Crafts with Conviction Program at LeCI.
