30 December Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force Recognition Ceremony December 30, 2016 By ODRC Adult Parole Authority (APA), Akron Adult Parole Authority, Cleveland Adult Parole Authority APA, Violent Fugitive Task Force, Steve Vukmer, Mike Beebe, U.S. Marshal Pete Elliott 0 The Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force was recognized by the Ohio House and Senate for outstanding service in protecting the citizens of Ohio. The Task Force, which is managed by the US Marshal’s Service and made up of officers from the Ohio Adult Parole Authority, Ohio State Highway Patrol, and numerous other Federal, State, County, and local law enforcement agencies throughout northern Ohio, was specifically recognized for reaching the milestone of apprehending 40,000 violent fugitives since its inception in 2003. Governor John Kasich addressed the crowd prior to the ceremony. On hand to accepted the recognition was US Marshal Pete Elliott, ODRC Parole Regional Administrators Steve Vukmer and Mike Beebe, Colonel Paul Pride of the Ohio State Highway Patrol, and the Sheriffs and Police Chiefs of numerous county and city police and sheriff’s departments throughout northern Ohio, as well as many of the task force officers. US Marshal Pete Elliott spoke briefly and credited the success of the task force to the outstanding partnerships of all law enforcement agencies involved.
