The inmate VVA chapter raised the money through various fund raisers. Dennis Lambert and Brandon Dennis received the check and spoke to the group of offenders about the purpose of Military Veterans Resource Center and the services they can provide. The Mission and Core Values of this organization is to "help veterans who served honorably access the resources they need to become self-reliant in their careers and lives". At MVRC, "we make sure no veteran is left to fend for him or herself during the transition". This is a wonderful organization that also operates the largest food pantry for veterans in the State of Ohio. Warden Mark Hooks states, “RCI’s VVA group is very active in supporting meaningful organizations such as MVRC. This provides the men an opportunity to provide positivity within our community. Its humbling to see efforts such as this to positively impact our veterans who so selflessly served our great nation."
