12 December Renaissance Family Day December 12, 2016 By ODRC Chillicothe Correctional Institution (CCI), Institutions CCI, Renaissance Program, Family Day 0 Recently, men from the Chillicothe Correctional Institution Renaissance program were able to celebrate their achievements with family and friends. The six month program is an intensive alcohol and drug cognitive behavioral therapy program that helps the offender identify how their high risk situations has influenced their thoughts and how their risky thoughts has influenced their negative and positive consequences. What is seen most often when working with the men, its imperative to their sobriety they have a strong support system within their family. Family day is a representation of involving the men’s family in celebrating their recovery in hopes he and his family can begin to heal together. There were 30 men and 64 guests attending this year! The families in attendance were able to enjoy a dinner with their loved ones and the children were able to make an ornament to take home with them!
