14 November AOCI Assisting the ODRC Military Peer Support Group November 14, 2016 By ODRC Allen/Oakwood Correctional Institution, Institutions AOCI Military Peer Support Group, Veterans, AOCI Red Cross, Mural 0 AOCI is assisting the ODRC Military Peer Support group in their efforts to bring holiday cheer to Veterans at selected Veteran’s homes in Ohio. Men at the Oakwood unit have been working on service branch banks that will be used as prizes for an upcoming Christmas Bingo. AOCI Red Cross and VVA members have also been working on wheelchair and walker bags that will also be donated at the Veteran’s home for those in need. The wheelchair and walker bags were donated for Christmas in July and the men at AOCI have continued their efforts to make more for Christmas 2016. Lt. Bilbrey at AOCI has lead the effort to work with the men and continue to remember and support Veterans! The items will be delivered by ODRC Military Peer Support group members. Also in honor of Veteran’s and those who serve our communities, men at the Oakwood unit painted a mural to show their gratitude and support. This mural is located in the hallway at the Oakwood unit.
