At approximately 1:15 a.m. on January 20th, 2016, Officer Shaw was awakened by a loud noise outside of his home. He discovered his neighbor's house, only two feet from his, was on fire. Cody quickly called 911 and immediately ran to assist the family, who was unaware of the fire. He helped the mother and son evacuate from their house. He then advised them to move their vehicles from the area to keep them safe. The mother and son exited the house without shoes, and only pajamas due to the circumstances and early morning hours. As you would expect in January the temperatures were frigid. Cody supplied them with clothing and blankets during their time of need.
