28 June ORW Education Spring Graduation June 28, 2018 By ODRC Institutions, Ohio Reformatory for Women (ORW) ORW, Education, Apprenticeship, GED, ABE, Graduation, Advanced Job Training Programs, Ohio Penal Industries 0 ORW Education celebrated their Spring Graduation among staff and family. This graduation celebrated the accomplishments of over 246 participants in the education and apprenticeship programs. The 13 apprenticeship graduates represented Carpenter Maintenance, Electrician Maintenance, Optician, Maintenance Repair - Building and Optician Dispensing. The academic program completers include 61 ABE completers and 90 students who completed the Pre-GED program. There were 73 GED graduates and 1 recipient of a High School Diploma. This marks the largest number of GED graduates for ORW since the new computerized GED system took effect in 2014. This years GED graduation number is a 204% increase from our August 2017 graduation numbers. The dedicated staff and students at ORW made this accomplishment possible for our education department through hard work and commitment to the new testing requirements. This hard work will now enable the GED graduates to access Advanced Job Training programs, Ohio Penal Industries program and equip them for successful re-entry upon release. We are extremely proud of the success of our students and staff at the Ohio Reformatory for Women.
